Namma Metro

Metro connectivity in Bangalore, which is to be active from next month onwards, is expected to benefit many localities in the north and east parts of the city. It is a major infrastructure development that has been underway for the past 5 years in Bangalore. The two main routes that will be covered by the Metro in Stage 1 are Yeshwanthpur to Jayanagar in the North and Mysore road to Old Madras road in the East.
The metro development will make it possible for a person to reach from one part of the city to another in half an hour. This will lead to fresh demand for residential and commercial properties in the localities that fall in the metro route.
Kishore Kumar of Encarta Constructions said that the localities that are likely to benefit owing to metro connectivity are Deepanjali Nagar, Rajarajeshwarinagar, Byappanahalli, Kammanahalli, Magadi road, among others. Kumar added that a metro development can change the dynamics of the city. “Take the example of Mumbai and Delhi where because of the metro; the cities have seen an increase in residential projects. A similar trend is expected in Bangalore as well.”
Restaurants, shopping complexes, departmental stores will also find potential in the metro rail corridors owing to better connectivity and increasing number of people shifting here. The metro might also result in a de-congestion of traffic in areas like Old Madras road, where the roads are narrow and traffic is chaotic.
Prominent developers in these areas are Brigade Group, Sobha Developers, Salarpuria Group, among others.
